Our days often consist of work, school, appointments and errands, often leaving little time for ourselves. The limited free moments in our days can often slip away and be replaced by daily obligations and what can only be described as life. And the reality is, physical activity usually falls to the bottom of our to-do lists. But what if we could somehow find holes in our day for more movement? What if we could make room to move?

Our campaign, Holes in Our Day, aims to remind Canadians that holes of free time can be created in our day when we tuck away, turn off reschedule and/or move the obstacles that tend to keep us from moving our bodies.
Making room to move in life doesn’t necessarily mean we need to make our days and to-do lists longer—it means finding ways to use our time differently. So, let’s confront our time thieves. Let’s spend less time scrolling and more time strolling. Let’s do less lounging and a little more lunging. Let’s put the ‘run’ in running errands.
Let’s make room to move, Canada.

About ParticipACTION
For over 50 years, ParticipACTION has been encouraging and helping people in Canada to get healthy by getting active. We’ve led award-winning public education campaigns, best-in-class thought leadership and innovative engagement initiatives that have moved millions of Canadians into action.
Through strategic partnerships in the public and private sectors, we’re working to build a more resilient and accessible culture of movement by removing barriers and creating opportunities for everyone living in Canada to get more active where they live, work, learn and play.
Time, space and costs are well-known and frequently experienced barriers to physical activity, and we invite Canadians to join us in discovering how we can make room to move, together.
